As a Phoenix Baby Photographer, I love watching your baby grow within their first year of life. I know you’ve heard it many times, but it’s true: they grow so quickly, especially in the first year. And trust me, you won’t want to miss capturing all of the sweet milestones in between.
In the first year, your baby will go from barely holding their head up and sleeping all day to taking their first steps and saying their first words. To put it plainly, there are many developmental milestones that happen within this first year. With each new milestone, comes another puzzle piece of their personality. I offer a Baby’s First Year Portrait Collective helping you document the special milestones before your baby’s first birthday.
The Baby’s First Year Portrait Collective is a series of photoshoots completed within your baby’s first year of life, often starting in the womb. You can choose up to 4 sessions to be done within an 18-month period. This allows a few extra weeks to celebrate early with a maternity session. However, you may choose to preserve your baby’s first year with monthly photos as well.
The Baby’s First-Year Portrait Collective with Jasmyn Sambac Photography has exclusive benefits including:
The best part about choosing the Baby’s First Year Portrait Collective is having same photographer as your family grows. During this time, we truly get to know each other and your children(and pets) become more familiar with me. As we spend more time together, you will feel comfortable and confident in knowing what to expect from each session.
Artistically, your photos will have a cohesive look. From your maternity session through to your baby’s first year photos everything will beautifully fit together. This allows you to create a gorgeous heirloom album or frame a variety of photos from each session together.
“The moment a child is born, the mother is also born.” – Osho
A maternity session is a way for you to celebrate yourself and mother that you are becoming. Enjoy taking a moment to slow down and be pampered before baby’s arrival. This is a great time to bond with your significant other, and older siblings, while you embrace your baby bump. One day, you may miss your cute bump as you reminisce in the future.
I recommended and encourage you to reach out early in your 2nd trimester and to plan your maternity session for when you are between 28 and 34 weeks pregnant. Every pregnancy is different- it’s okay if you maternity photoshoot is scheduled outside of this timeframe. However, keep in mind that comfortability and range of motion become more constricted closer to 40 weeks.

You want to capture their tiny fingers and toes, smile at every yawn, and coo, while you snuggle to their newborn scent(the best smell on Earth!). You’re most likely exhausted from the birthing journey and sleepless nights. But, you’re overjoyed that your baby has finally arrived and want to never forget this moment.
I offer in-home Lifestyle Newborn Photography to create wonderful new memories full of nostalgia that are forming in your home. I practice baby-led posing, which is hardly posing at all. We focus more on the emotion which results in natural, yet elegant newborn photographs. Siblings, grandparents, and furry family members are always welcome to be a part of this session.
Your newborn session will take place 7-21 days after birth. If your baby arrives early, you have a C-section and/or birth complications, or just for privacy, your newborn session may fall out of this timeframe. And that’s okay. I take only a limited number of due dates each month to ensure availablity.

The 6-month milestone or “sitter session” holds a special place in my heart. Imagine big cheeky smiles and chunky thighs. At this age, babies understand a wide range of emotion and their adorning eyes keep focus. Your baby’s personality is really starting to shine. They are using their voice, reaching for anything that catches their eye, and love to play games like “peek-a-boo!” The world around them has come alive and they’re all about exploring it.
Ideally, plan this session for when your baby is sitting on their own, unassisted, which may be closer to 7 months. However, this depends on your goals and wishes for this ssession. It is not necessary for your child to be able to sit on their own to document their 6-month photos. What matters most is capturing this season of life.
*Please remember, every child is different and reaches milestones at difference paces. There is no magical number age or need to rush a session.
This is when you realize how quickly the past year has gone by. Your baby may be crawling and walking faster than you can think, pulling themselves up to stand, and calling you “mama” or “dada.” They’re becoming more and more independt as the days continue. But, I promise you they still want your snuggles.
I offer a simple, minimalistic cake smash set-up or you can opt to leave the cake out completely. Again, what matters most is capturing this season of life, and year One is a big milestone.
You’ll want to plan your session 3-4 weeks in advance of your baby’s first birthday. This gives enough time for the creative process it takes to provide the level of service that I offer.

I absolutely love year collections. There is nothing better than having an album of the first year. How beautiful!
Such a great opportunity to have so many sweet milestone captured with the membership you’re offering. I especially love the newborn photo with the doggy.
