As an Ocotillo Maternity Photographer, I get to witness so many ‘in-between’ moments. But lately, the desert winter has felt more purposeful…like the first of the year shares a quiet in-between, similar to those final weeks of pregnancy.
As you move through your third trimester, there’s a deeper sense of peace that your baby can safely come any day now. Yet, you’re in anticipation of welcoming your baby into the world, requiring a ton of patience. The knowing that they will come when they are ready.
You’re simply here, in limbo.
January feels the same. You’re deep in the middle of Winter. Biologically, you’re meant to rest. At the same time, you may feel the pull of making changes because the calendar says so. Though really, this moment is meant to be slow. A pause before what’s next as a soft reset before the unfolding.
This is a transformational season of becoming.
Not hustling to check off a to-do list, but instead allowing yourself to be. In the quiet, in the stillness, with an abundance of warmth on the horizon.

To me, this is such a beautiful place to be.
