As an Ahwatukee Newborn Photographer, I find the importance of preserving legacy to be a high priority during extended family sessions. In fact, as part of The JSP Experience, I ask if you have a special family heirloom or a unique story/theme in your family history. For instance, a past client had an influential family member who passed away prior to her giving birth. This family member was particularly fond of elephants. My client incorporated elephants within each milestone that she celebrated during her pregnancy.
I recently photographed a lifestyle newborn session where the Grandparents were visiting from Japan. In many cultures around the world, it is common for families to help new parents with their newborn babies. The familiar saying “it takes a village” rings true. The couple brought their long-awaited son into the world and were over the moon to have mom’s parents there to help them out in the new territory of parenthood. I felt truly honored to document this special time for their family.
Like these sweet Grandparents, extended relatives may make the journey to visit and help new parents with their newborn babies. And, especially help with older siblings and chores around the house. I think we can all agree having had experience with the years of the pandemic, that we may never know when visitation may be troublesome, even more so when they live across the globe. This makes for the perfect opportunity to document generational photos.
There is a reason I offer only Fine Art archival-quality prints. I want your photographs to last and stand the test of time. Not to be grim, but you never know when loved ones may depart. You’ll want the best quality of printed images that can last for generations. I provide Heirloom Albums and Framed Prints that are protected from UV rays and are acid-free. Grandparents also have the option to receive a mini album which is a small duplicate of a larger full album. The “mini grandparent album” is a perfect size to easily pack for traveling or shipping.
