With jagged peaks and a golden-hour glow that’s pure magic, this location is ideal for both sunrise and sunset sessions. But if I’m being truthfully honest, I prefer sunrise. Access the Superstitions directly through Lost Dutchman State Park or explore the various trails surrounding the park for unique perspectives.
Usery Mountain Regional Park

Usery is a treasure in the East Valley, with saguaro-dotted trails and soft light filtering through the hills. It’s one of my most recommended locations for mamas with young children or those wanting minimal hiking. Its peaceful setting and variety of backdrops make it a standout choice year-round for sunset or sunrise.
South Mountain Park and Preserve

As one of the largest urban parks in the country, South Mountain offers an incredible variety of views. From rustic ruins at Scorpion Gulch to quiet desert trails and dreamy, valleywide views, South Mountain offers a little bit of everything. Plus, it is centrally located, making it convenient for families traveling from different parts of the Valley.

It’s a versatile spot that feels remote, yet easily accessible.
